FOUNTAIN CITY YOUTH BRASS ACADEMY
The Fountain City Youth Brass Academy (FCYBA) is the educational outreach component of the Fountain City Brass Band (FCBB), North America’s premiere volunteer brass and percussion ensemble. The mission of the FCYBA is to inspire young musicians of all performance ability levels to achieve a high standard of musicianship and to foster a life-long love of music.
NATIONAL YOUTH BRASS BAND OF AMERICA
The National Youth Brass Band of America is providing students with the opportunity to perform at the highest standards, improve their musicianship and explore future musical horizons. Students will spend time during the course with some of the country’s leading performers and educators in the forms of lessons, clinics, and sectionals. They will also have the amazing opportunity to rehearse under the baton of its Founding Musical Director, Professor David King.
MASTERCLASS CLINICIAN
I have had the great fortune to work as masterclass clinician and conductor for many different university and ensembles. These institutions include the University of Missouri - Kansas City Conservatory of Music and Dance, Michigan State University, Kennesaw State University, Oklahoma City University, Oakland University, Missouri Southern State University, Arkansas State University, Kansas State University, University of Central Oklahoma, and the Arkansas Music Works Brass Band.
PRIVATE LESSONS INSTRUCTOR
Since I started studies at the collegiate level I have maintained a studio of private lesson students. Students in my studio have been semi-finalists in the National Trumpet Competition, won scholarships to major universities (such as University of North Texas, Oklahoma State University, University of Arkansas, and Kansas State), and have won first chair in Kansas, Missouri, and Arkansas All State bands and Orchestras.
